One of the main purposes of this event is;

Telling & showing the real situation of Fukushima to

the Australian people.

We are gathering the voices from Fukushima kids and their parents.

Yes we are protecting the children in Fukushima but it does not necessarily be a passive meaning but it is an active meaning.

Protecting doesn't mean that we decide the future of the children.  It means respecting their own ideas of their future and listening their voices then think together the future of society.

Children and adults are both important parts of the community and need to learn together in the nature and have an interactive communication placing an importance on both "now" and the next generation.

That is the main theme of the Cairns Refresh Camp Project.

We think, KIDS ALREADY KNOW WHAT IS IMPORTANT FOR THE PEACE & THIER FUTURE.

In this event, we will share the materials which Fukushima people sent to us showing the real situation in there and the real voices of them.

Last year, we visited the organic farm in Malanda, Taka san's place (Spring Dew Farm)

They shared their own ideas and opinions after listening Taka san's story.

One of the good examples of the interactive communication during the Cairns Refresh Camp Project.

Annual General Meeting was held on 3 NOV

We had the annual general meeting of Smile with Kids on 3 NOV.

Junko, the treasurer of Smile with Kids reported the income and expenditure & the audit table. 

There are always a lot of support & help from everybody so that we can continue this non-profit organisation.

Thank you Junko, thank you everyone!

Then we discussed the updated objects of association and the Japan Day of Hope which will be held on 9 March, 2019.

Thanking the support of everyone, we can have this 9th event next year.
We would like to create the next one as well with a lot of people thinking of Japan & Fukushima Kids.

The next Cairns Refresh Camp will be held from 20 July to 1 August in 2019.
We will welcome 8 Fukushima kids during those days.



Even from outside Cairns, such as Atherton, Innisfail and Malanda, our precious members joined this meeting.  Thank you for the nice discussion!

We are wanting the volunteer workers for the event in March.

If you have time, please join us with whatever you could do.

Japan Day of Hope 2019

Next Japan Day of Hope will be held on 9 March, 2019 11:00-16:00 
@Edge Hill State School.

We will never forget that day.

We will do whatever we can do from Cairns!

Next one will be the 9th annual charity event since we started it with the Japanese community in Cairns holding the motto above.

We are creating this event with everyone who will be involving it.

Please let us know if you have any nice ideas & opinions.

We are wanting the volunteer staff who can enjoy the preparation & event day together with us.

Whatever & whenever you want to do will be the best help for us. Works can be done in many different ways.  If you are interested in the volunteer opportunities, please let us know.
